Northern wrestling picked to finish fifth in pre-season wrestling poll

Northern State wrestling has been picked to finish fifth in the NSIC in the pre-season coach’s poll released Monday. Picked to win the conference was St. Cloud State with seven first place votes. Behind them in order included Augustana, Parkside and the University of Mary. Picked as a wrestler to watch for Northern was 149lbs graduate student Wyatt Turnquist. Last year, the Winner South Dakota native went 25-4, 8-1 in the NSIC and was named an All-American. Northern will open the wrestling season Saturday taking part in the Jimmie Open.
