Oklahoma man arrested in Deuel county on DUI and auto theft charges Saturday

The Deuel county sheriff’s office reports a man was arrested on DUI and vehicle theft charges this past weekend. According to authorities, the incident occurred Saturday August 5^th at approximately 7:10 a.m. Officers responded to calls about a man on the side of the road with a stopped vehicle in the roadway trying to flag down other vehicles. Upon further investigation, deputies say the suspect was under the influence. Authorities contacted the owner of the stopped vehicle who claimed they did not know the vehicle had been taken. 58-year-old James Carter of Oklahoma was arrested in the incident and faces DUI 1^st and grand theft of a motor vehicle.
