One person is dead following a house fire in Madison South Dakota Monday. According to the Madison Volunteer fire department, fire crews responded to flames in the 300 block of Harth Avenue North. Upon arrival the building was fully engulfed in flames. Crews entered the home upon learning there was still an individual inside. First responders were unable to rescue them and the victim parished in the fire. The deceased has been identified as a female only. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
