(KXLG – Watertown, SD) A tragic fatal worksite accident occurred yesterday around 9:32 am near the 600 Block of 31st Street Southeast. When Codington County Deputies arrived with a 47-year-old male who had received injuries from being struck by an excavator bucket.
Life-saving measures were attempted, and Watertown Fire Rescue transported the male to Prairie Lakes Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
An initial investigation was done on scene and was turned over to the MSHA and OSHA.
