Outgoing State Democratic Party chairman Randy Seiler has passed away. According to the US Attorney’s Office in Rapid City, Seiler passed away Tuesday. He was 76 years old. Seiler was running near the Oahe Dam with his dog in Pierre Friday when he collapsed. An onlooker performed CPR until EMTs arrived and took him to a local hospital. Seiler was hospitalized with a heart attack and eventually put into a medically induced coma. Seiler served as South Dakota’s 41st US Attorney under former presidents Barack Obama and Donald Trump. He left that office in 2017.
