PC soccer coach John Hutchison promoted to dual men and women’s head coach

Presentation College has promoted John Hutchison from Head Women’s Soccer Coach to dual Head Men’s and Women’s Soccer Coach. Hutchison has served as the head women’s soccer coach since the spring of 2019, he will take lead of the men’s program this fall.

“I have always admired the work ethic and attitude of the men’s team here at Presentation College. It’s a privilege to be able to lead this team of fine young men. Knowing the character this team has, I know they will take on any challenges ahead in stride. I look forward to leading this team into this season and I have no doubt success will be in this team’s future.” said Hutchison about leading the men’s program.

Coach Hutchison led the women’s program to 4-10-1 last season, tabbing the best winning percentage for the program since 2017. Hutchison has had 6 players earn All-Conference alcaides in his time at Presentation.

“John Hutchison will be the head coach for both our men’s and women’s soccer programs this fall.  Coach Hutchison has done a great job leading our women’s program during his time at PC.  He has increased roster numbers, developed a competitive women’s program in the GPAC, and has brought excitement back.  I am excited to see him do the same with our men’s program.” said Spindler about Coach Hutchison’s promotion for the Saints.

Prior to Presentation Hutchison served as an graduate assistant coach to the William Woods University (Mo.) men’s soccer program. During his time with the Owls, the team went 13-4-3 in back-to-back seasons and produced four All-Americans. The team also won their first AMC conference title, were ranked No. 22 in the nation and made the NAIA National Tournament for the first time in program history.

Prior to William Woods, Coach Hutchison was a Volunteer Assistant Coach in the 2016 season for the University of Arkansas women’s soccer program. During that time, he helped lead the Razorbacks to the most wins in school history (18,) two of which were against top 10 ranked programs, their first SEC conference championship appearance in 20 years, and a second round appearance in the NCAA Tournament.

Before going to Arkansas, Hutchison served as the Graduate Assistant for both the men’s and women’s soccer programs at Ottawa University in Ottawa (Kan.) for the 2013 and 2014 seasons. In this time there, he helped the men’s team reach KCAC playoffs both years. With the women’s program, he helped lead them to back-to-back conference titles as well as appearances in the NAIA National Championship Tournament.

Hutchison was a two-year member of the Columbia College (Mo.) men’s soccer team, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Sports Management. Mclean spent the first two years of his collegiate soccer career at Lincoln Land Community College (Ill.). He also holds a Master’s in Business Administration from Ottawa University.

The men’s team opened season in exhibition play last Sunday versus, DII South Dakota School of the Mines. The women’s team is scheduled to begin season in exhibition play against DII Northern State, August 16 in Aberdeen at NSU. Kick-off is slated for 7pm.
