The South Dakota Game Fish And Parks Commission voted Wednesday to pull peregrine falcons from the endangered bird species list in South Dakota. The birds instead received the slightly improved status of a “Threatened Bird Species”. Three birds remain on the endangered list in South Dakota, including whooping cranes, least tern and Eskimo curlew.
