The Brown County Commission at its regular meeting Tuesday approved applying for a grant to help fortify security at both the courthouse and the magistrate courtroom within the city’s municipal building. The grant is provided by the South Dakota Department of Justice. According to Brown County Commission Chair Dwayne Sutton, the grant would pay for 80 percent of the cost of $194,000 price tag. The Commission also announced it has rescinded its burn ban, imposed by the Commission on March 12th.
