(DRG News – Pierre, SD) A 47-year woman from Pierre is dead after being run over by a vehicle in Pierre about mid-morning on Wednesday (Sept. 25, 2024).
Information from Pierre Police Captain Dusty Pelle (pell-ee) says at approximately 10am, emergency responders responded to the 600 block of N. Huron Avenue for a female being pinned between a car and a garage. He says the investigation shows that the female was backing her vehicle out of a garage, when she stopped and got out. The vehicle then began to roll forward into the garage when the side of the garage door pushed on the open driver’s door pinning the female between the door and the vehicle. She died from the injuries.
The name of the person involved has not been released pending notification of family members.
