Rape charges against former Republican candidate for state House Bud Marty May dropped

Charges against a Republican house candidate in District 27 have been dropped. According to court second degree rape charges against 37-year-old Bud Marty May of Kyle South Dakota were dismissed due to the victim’s unwillingness to cooperate. Marty May was accused of forcing himself on the alleged victim in a bathroom stall at a local bar. According to police reports at the time, Marty May initially denied any involvement in the incident, but later claimed the interaction was quote “just a hug”.
