A Rapid City man has been sentenced to 80 years in prison following the killing of an autistic man in August of 2021. According to the Pennington county state’s attorney’s office, 33-year-old William Daley shot and killed 20-year-old Austin Freeman while freeman was walking to his grandmothers house. Daley shot freeman in the stomach after beckoning him to come closer. The act was caught on video and freeman’s cries were recorded during a 911 call. No motive for the killing was provided. Daly plead guilty to first-degree manslaughter in July.
