Red River Valley Women’s Clinic in Fargo sues North Dakota over abortion trigger law

The only abortion clinic in North Dakota, the Red River Women’s Clinic in Fargo, has sued the state of over its abortion ban, seeking to declare it unconstitutional. The lawsuit seeks to delay the implementation of the North Dakota trigger law it passed in 2007. According to the clinic, the state’s ban on abortion procedures violates the state constitution’s protections to life, liberty and safety and happiness. A judge in North Dakota agreed with the plaintiffs on a similar matter in 2011 when the state legislature tried to regulate medication assisted abortions.
