A Republican South Dakota State Senate candidate has been charged with child abuse involving sexual grooming. According to the South Dakota Attorney General’s office 44-year-old Joel Koskan allegedly sexually groomed a minor over a six-year period. A criminal complaint was field earlier this week in Mellette county. Koskan is currently running for state senate in District 26. He faces one count of exposing a minor to foreseeable harm, which is a class four felony. If found guilty he faces up to 10 years in prison.
