The South Dakota Secretary of State’s office has announced a referendum regarding SB201 has the necessary valid signatures to make the ballot this November. SB201 was passed by the state legislature this past session and is an attempt to address landowner rights and the Summit Carbon Solutions Co2 Pipeline project. Proponents of the bill have called it a landowners bill of rights, while opponents say it is a giveaway to industry special interest. Voters will now decide whether or not they want this law on the books this coming November.
