SD Dems rehire Dan Ahlers as executive director

The South Dakota Democratic party has rehired Dan Ahlers following a months long saga that saw them remove state party chair Jennifer Slaight-Hansen and more. Ahlers will again serve as the party’s executive director, a position he resigned from while under Slaight Hansen alleging she created a hostile working environment and broke party rules. Slaight-Hansen was removed from office in August and since then her deputy Shane Merrill has been promoted to the new chair.
