SD League of Women Voters files lawsuit making collecting ballot initiative signatures more difficult

The South Dakota League of Women Voters and the League of Women Voters of the United States has filed a federal lawsuit to challenge a law making it harder for individuals or organizations to collect ballot initiative signatures. The specific law requires people collecting signatures to have at least a 30-day residency within the state. The two groups have filed the lawsuit claiming it violates the first and 14^th amendment to the US Constitution.
