The South Dakota State Fair has announced the fair this year raised $222,108.58 in tax revenue. During the fair 607 booths were rented by 322 different vendors. According to the Department of Revenue, money spent during the five-day fair topped $2.7 million. Of the tax collected $113,541.78 was state sale tax, $53,813.43 was Huron sales tax, $15,779.19 was Huron municipal gross receipts tax and $39,976.18 was the state tourism tax.
