Senator Thune asks president-elect Trump to stay out of leadership race in the Senate

South Dakota Senator John Thune spoke with CNBC Thursday following the 2024 election and Republicans retaking the majority in the Senate. There is currently a race which will be decided next week among Republican senators who will become the new majority leader with Mitch McConnell stepping down. Thune is running for that leadership position. On CNBC he asked newly elected president Trump to stay out of the race for leadership in the senate…
