Senator Thune to donate $4 million of his campaign funds to the NRSC

South Dakota Senator John Thune has one of the largest war chests to seek re-election in the United States Senate and now he is sharing some of that money to help fellow Republicans get elected. According to the Hill, Senator Thune has transferred $4 million of the $18 million he has cash on hand right now to the National Republican Senatorial Committee or NRSC. The job of the NRSC is to help Republicans reclaim the majority in the upper chamber. Win or lose the senate this coming election, senator Thune is hoping to be named the Republican caucus leader. He is currently seeking leadership against Republican senator John Cornyn of Texas and Florida Senator Rick Scott.
