Sioux Falls woman faces life in prison on arson and manslaughter charges

A Sioux Falls woman has pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter and first-degree arson. According to court documents, 35-year-old Gerri Jensen changed her plea regarding a case stemming back to July of 2022. In court today Jensen admitted to starting a fire at an apartment complex on North Grange Avenue in Sioux Falls last July. She started the fire after getting into an argument with another woman at a casino. The victim in this case, 53-year-old Charice Admire died in the fire, but had nothing to do with the argument. She faces a maximum sentence of life in prison.
