A Sioux Falls woman has pleaded not guilty to second-degree manslaughter and abuse or cruelty to a minor charges.
The charges stem from an incident on July 20th when officers were called about a two-month old child who was not breathing.
20-year-old Ashlynn Swenson-Marshall had been bathing her child when she left him unattended from what police say was anywhere between seven to 10 minutes before returning and finding the infant’s head underwater.
He died as a result of his injuries. A jury trial has been set for December 11th 2023.
