Sisseton man identified in one-vehicle fatality east of Waverly

A Sisseton, S.D., man has been identified as the person who died Thursday morning in a one-vehicle crash east of Waverly.

Preliminary crash information indicates that a 1994 GMC Sierra C1500 pickup was eastbound on 164th Street near the intersection with 466th Avenue when the vehicle left the roadway and entered the south ditch. The driver overcorrected and the vehicle eventually went into the north ditch where it rolled.

Isaiah Horne, Sr., the 36-year-old driver, was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

South Dakota’s Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. All information released so far is only preliminary.

The Highway Patrol is an agency of the South Dakota Department of Public Safety.
