The six Mitchell legion baseball players at the heart of a sexual assault scandal that has plagued the team for over a year were all sentenced Thursday. None of the six will serve jail time and instead must serve 500 hours of community service and pay a $1,3000 fine. Each player received three years probation as well. The charges come from an incident in June of 2023 when the six players took part in a sexual assault while staying in a hotel for a tournament in Rapid City. Following an investigation into the matter the six players were charged with second degree rape and aiding and abetting charges.
