Sobriety checkpoints have been announced by the South Dakota Department of Public Safety for the month of February. The checkpoints are conducted by the state highway patrol and are used to deter driving under the influence. Checkpoints will take place in the following counties: Beadle, Brookings, Brown, Clay, Codington, Douglas, Fall River, Jackson, Lawrence, Lincoln, Lyman, Minnehaha, Pennington, Roberts and Walworth.
