South Carolina senator Tim Scott announces exploritory committee to run for President

South Carolina Republican senator Tim Scott has announced he plans on running for president by creating an exploritory committee. This is often the first step politicians take in order to court donors and test the waters of a potential run. Scott will be running for the Republican nomination which includes former president Donald Trump, former UN ambassador and fellow South Carolina politician Nikki Haley, former Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson and tech entrepreneur Vivke Ramswamy. Scott has served as the junior senator from South Carolina since 2013. Before that he was a member of the US House of Representatives from South Carolina.
