The South Dakota Democratic party has announced Aberdeen native and former Roberts county State’s Attorney Kay Nikolas will fill a vacant spot on the November ballot for the state House of Representatives. Nikolas will fill a void left by former District 1 Representative Jennifer Keintz who has accepted an offer to be candidate Jamie Smith’s running mate, running as his lieutenant gubernatorial candidate. She will be on the ballot this coming November along with fellow house candidates Democrat Steve McCleery and Republicans Tamara St. John and Joe Donnell.
