South Dakota experiences 3.0 magnitude earthquake

Residents near Wakonda South Dakota experienced a small earthquake Sunday. According to the United States Geological Survey, a 3.0 magnitude earthquake was recorded near Wakonda Sunday Dec. 10^th. That is about the lowest magnitude of earthquake humans can experience. Wakonda is located in Clay county, has a population of about 347 people and is about 23 miles north east of Yankton. There have been almost 100 documented earthquakes in South Dakota since the Geological Survey began keeping records.
