According to a report released by Zutobi, an onilne driver education platform, South Dakota ranks second in the nation when it comes to DUI related incidents. According to the figures, South Dakota’s quote “DUI Severity Score” is an 81.2 out of 100, coming in behind only Montana which had a score of 83.6. Rounding off the top five includes, Wyoming, North Dakota and Texas in that order. Zutobi analyzed data regarding DUI related accidents, fatalities and arrests to come up with its figures. In 2021 31 percent of the 13,386 road related deaths could be attributed to drunk driving.
