South Dakotan’s for Better Marijuana Laws began a statewide campaign Wednesday in Sioux Falls to try and get IM27 over the threshold and passed by voters this November.
IM27 would legalize recreational marijuana for adults 21-years or older.
Matthew Schweich, one of the groups leaders, hopes as his group makes stops across the state voters talk with them because of what he calls misinformation…
The group released an internal poll they conducted claiming to show 54 percent of voters support IM27. The same amount of people who voted for Amendment A in 2020 which legalized recreational marijuana, but was overturned by the state supreme court on constitutional grounds.
This poll shows a different result than a poll conducted by South Dakota News Watch months ago which showed more people than not against legalizing recreational marijuana.
