(KXLG – Watertown, SD) Big Stone County Sheriff’s laid down a spike strip, and three tires became deflated in a pursuit southbound on highway 75, August 24, 2022.
The pursuit began in Breckenridge, MN, and went through Wilkin and Traverse Counties. Big Stone Sheriff’s entered the pursuit near Graceville, MN and deployed another spike strip. At the same time, another deputy used a PIT manuever to disable the vehicle around 7:16 pm, near highway 75 and 280th St.
The driver of the vehicle, Lionel Dumarce, is 33 years old and from Sisseton. He was arrested, held in Traverse County, and charged with fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle, a second degree DWI, and refusal to test.
Ray Palacio was the passenger, 31 years old and also from Sisseton. He was arrested on an outstanding warrant from Wilkin County, MN. He is being held in Wilkin County jail.
