The state Democratic Party’s central committee voted unanimously Saturday to recall state party chair and Aberdeen resident Jennifer Slaight-Hanson. While no one voted against the recall, some members of the central committee did abstain from the vote. Slaight-Hanson now has seven days to file an appeal if she would want to fight the matter further. The appeals committee would then have 13 days to consider it. The central committee now plans to vote for a new chair September 16th in Rapid City. Vice chair Shane Merrill will serve as interim chair for the time being.
