The state of South Dakota is set to receive $3.6 million from a settlement against the company Johnson & Johnson’s baby and boody powder products that contained talc. The announcement was made by the South Dakota Attorney General’s office. South Dakota was part of a lawsuit with 42 other states that reached a $700 million nationwide settlement. The settlement settles allegations that J&J deceptively promoted and misled consumers through advertising related to safety and purity of some of its talc powder products.
