State will not seek death penalty against Alfredo Castellanos-Rosales who is facing murder charges

The State of South Dakota has chosen not to seek the death penalty in a murder case. 39-year-old Alfredo Castellanos-Rosales is accused of murdering 23-year-old Jordan Beardshear of Dakota Dunes. Beardshear was found dead by authorities on April 25th. Castellanos-Rosales and Beardshear had a child together and at one time were in a significant romantic relationship. Castellanos-Rosales pleaded not guilty, but needed to be extradited back to South Dakota after fleeing to Mexico in May.
