Steve Willard, one of the members of the South Dakota Board of Education Standards has resigned from his position on the board. The announcement was made by the Belle Fourche school district. The resignation takes effect immediately. In a statement about the decision, Willard says he does not have the adequate amount of time to dedicate to do the board justice. Governor Kristi Noem will appoint a successor. Williard was one of seven members on the board and one of three new members Governor Noem appointed in 2021.
