Three people in Brookings county face animal cruelty charges. According to the Brookings Police Department, officers executed a search warrant at a residence in the southeastern part of town after receiving complains about potential animal welfare violations. Upon arrival officers discovered 31 dogs and four cats inside a home. 57-year-old Debora Schutle, 26-year-old Jordan Schulte and 28-year-old Brandon Schulte were each arrested regarding the animals. All three face 35 counts of animal cruelty.
