Three people needed to be rescued after falling through thin ice near Mission South Dakota Wednesday. According to authorities two children fell into the Turtle Dam and an adult did also trying to rescue them. Due to the mild winter its more important than ever for anyone who wants to venture out onto frozen water to do so with extreme caution. Some of the ice may not be thick enough to walk on and falling into cold water runs the risk of drowning or experiencing hypothermia. According to authorities, if you venture out onto ice wear a life jacket and make sure to have someone watching you from shore.
