Twins catcher Joe Mauer nominated to MLB Hall of Fame

Minnesota Twins catcher Joe Mauer was voted by the baseball writers association to be inducted into the MLB hall of fame Tuesday. He headlines the class along with Todd Helton and Adrian Beltre. The three, along with Jim Leyland who was voted in by the Contemporary Baseball Era Non-Players Committee will be enshrined at an event in Cooperstown New York on July 21^st. Mauer is just the third catcher to be nominated to the Hall of Fame along with Ivan Rodriguez and Johnny Bench. Mauer made the hall in his first year of eligibility, receiving 76.1 percent of the vote. To get enshrined you need to eclipse 75 percent. Mauer talked about his feelings getting the call he got in…
