Minnesota Twins starter Sonny Gray has turned down the club’s qualifying offer this week making him a free agent. He is one of four starters across the league to turn down qualifying offers including fellow pitchers Aaron Nola from Philadelphia, Blake Snell and Josh Harder from San Diego. The qualifying offer Gray turned down was one-year $20.35 million. Gray started 32 games for Minnesota in 2023 and finished the season with a 2.79 ERA and 183 strikeouts in 184 innings pitched. He finished second in the American League Cy Young voting as well. This is the first time Gray has entered free agency.
