Two people in Brookings sentenced to probation for animal neglect case

Two people in Brookings have been sentenced to probation regarding animal neglect cases. According to court documents Debra and Jordan Schulte allegedly had 35 cats and dogs at a residents with many of the animals suffering from malnourishment. Some animals had fleas as well. Both women pleaded guilty to one count of animal abuse with other charges filed against them dismissed. A third suspect in this case Brandon Schulte is scheduled to be back in court next week.
