A Tyndall man has been sentenced to life in prison for a 2021 attack that left three people dead in Scotland. According to Attorney General Marty Jackley’s office, 42-year-old Francis Lange was sentenced Monday on charges he plead guilty to earlier this year. Lange pleaded guilty but mentally ill to three counts of first-degree murder and two counts aggravated assault. In November of 2021 Lange shot and killed three people in a Scotland South Dakota home. He also wounded two others including a child. There was questions as to whether or not the prosecution would seek the death penalty in this case, but decided not to in February of this year.
