Democrat U.S. Senate candidate Brian Bengs continues his campaign against incumbent senator John Thune with about a month remaining before election day.

While many voters are concerned this election cycle about abortion rights, inflation and more, Bengs says voters on the campaign trail have been talking to him about healthcare.

Bengs pointed to insulin costs in the United States as a good example of rising healthcare costs. According to the Rand corporation, the average cost of a vile of insulin in the United States is $98.70. Meanwhile, the same vile of insulin costs under $15 in countries including Japan, Canada, Germany, France, the UK and Australia.

Bengs says his idea to lower prescription drug costs would be to bolster competition by entering into a large market with other G-7 countries…
