US Postal Service reminding customers price increases planned for many services Sunday

The US Postal Service is reminding customers the price of a basic stamp will be going up next Sunday. Some postage prices are set to increase by 4.2 percent which amounts to a few cents per stamp. The cost of a forever stamp is set to go up three cents from 60 to 63. The USPS is also increasing the cost of priority mail by about 5.5 percent, priority mail express 6.6 percent and first class package services are set to increase 7.8 percent. The increases are happening to try and address an estimated $1 billion increase in the USPS’s operating budget due to inflation.
