University of South Dakota alum Chris Nilsen won his third straight US Outdoor pole vault championship Saturday night and is now set to represent the United States in the upcoming World Championships. He as the only competitor to clear 19-4 and 3/4s or 5.91 meters in competition. Nilsen is ranked #2 in the world behind only defending Olympic and World champion Mondo Duplantis of Sweden. The World Championships will be held in Budapest Hungary with pole vault qualifying rounds scheduled for August 23rd and finals August 26th.
