USD men’s basketball player Mihai Carcoana charged with rape

University of South Dakota men’s basketball player Mihai Carcoana has been arrested on rape charges. According to authorities the 20-year-old Romania native was booked and charged with second degree rape Friday. The charge stem from an alleged incident at Carcoana’s apartment. There the victim says she tried to contact a friend to pick her up, but Carcoana pushed her on the bed, took her phone, dismissed calls from her friend and began raping her. The investigation is ongoing and more information is expected to be released at a later time.
