According to reports, Hunter is seeking a new contract and is frustrated over alleged trade calls the team has been considering prior to this part of the offseason. Hunter is currently on a five-year $72 million contract and is set to make $5.5 million in base salary in 2023, 40th among NFL edge rushers. Hunter, returning from missing a season due to a pectoral injury, had 10.5 sacks last season, ranking him eighth among edge rushers.
