Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins is leaving the north for Atlanta signing a four year $180 million deal with the Falcons. Cousins deal includes $50 million in guaranteed money over the next two seasons with an additional $10 million guaranteed in 2026, a total of $100 million in guarantees. Cousins is 36 years old and coming off an Achillies tendon tear. In six seasons in Minnesota, Cousins went 50-37-1, made two playoff appearances and had one playoff win.
Sports Illustrated now reports veteran journeyman quarterback Sam Darnold is expected to sign with Minnesota on a one-year $10 million deal. Other free agent signings for Minnesota include linebacker Blake Cashman on a three-year $25.5 million deal, former University of South Dakota star linebacker Andrew Van Ginkel to a two-year $20 million deal, and edge rusher Jonathan Greenland on a four-year $72 million deal. The Vikings also lost star defensive end Danielle Hunter who signed with the Houston Texans.
