Vikings resign running back Alexander Mattison and other free agents

The Minnesota Vikings continue to make moves as free agency opens in the NFL.

First, the Vikings have brought back running back Alexander Mattison on a two-year $8 million contract. The deal includes $6.35 million in guaranteed money.

Next, the Vikings have signed 25-year-old cornerback Byron Murphy to a two-year $22 million contract. Murphy was the 33rd overall pick in the 2019 NFL draft, has five career interceptions, 34 passes defended, five fumble recoveries and two defensive touchdowns in 56 games played. Before joining Minnesota he had played his entire career with the Arizona Cardinals.

The Vikings have also signed former first round pick defensive end Marcus Davenport to a one-year $13 million deal.
