Minnesota Vikings rookie quarterback JJ McCarthy will miss his entire rookie season after undergoing surgery on right right knee to repair a torn meniscus. Doctors and the team were not certain the severity of McCarthy’s injury until they underwent the surgery. McCarthy becomes the first rookie quarterback since the common draft began in 1967 to be selected in the first round and miss his entire rookie season due to an injury.
