Vikings waive backup QB Jaren Hall, sign backup QB Brett Rypien

The Minnesota Vikings have waived backup quarterback Jaren Hall and signed a new third string quarterback in Brett Rypien. Hall started two games for Minnesota last year due to injury and was a former fifth round pick by Minnesota in 2023 out of BYU. Rypien started the 2024 offseason with the Chicago Bears before getting cut and eventually signed by Minnesota. He was originally undrafted out of Boise State in 2019.
