A Watertown man has been sentenced on sex crime charges. According to the South Dakota Attorney General’s office, 62-year-old James Kaska was sentenced Wednesday to 50 years in prison with 20 years suspended after pleading no contest to first-degree rape of an underage child. Court documents claim the incident in question occurred between June of 2020 to 2021. Kaska was a registered sex offender when police officers executed a search warrant at his home on these charges back in August of 2023.
